Significance
Die Lit received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its appeal and production. Some critics felt it lacked depth and originality, while others saw it as a modern cornerstone of the trap genre. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200, selling 61,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. In July 2019, it was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album has been cited as an early influence on the emergence of the rage microgenre of trap music in the early 2020s. It is known for its influence on the trap genre and is considered by some to be Carti's best project.
